We started with The tea / coffee session. We then moved on to playing housie games which our seniors are sentimentally attached to. We also played a "Parsi Names" game and all winners were given away chocolates.

Finally it was that time of the day when we wanted to celebrate the birthday of our seniors. We had two seniors who celebrated their birthdays in the month of January / February – Mr. Noshir Elavia (who couldn't attend, since he is overseas) & Ms. Mani Mowji.

Our next senior's session will be held on 16th March.

It was the time to celebrate Navroze with a bang.

Our seniors met each other and wish everyone a Happy Navroze (in advance) and settled down to have "Sev-dahi" which was lovingly sponsored by Faranak Kabir and Anaheeta Sethna. Hot tea was served and then we all watched a Bollywood movie "Jai-Ho". Our seniors enjoyed the "dhushm-dhushm".

We paused for having lunch which was sponsored by a generous regular donor who wishes to remain anonymous. Delicious dhun-dal, butter chicken, mutter paneer and lagan nu custard was on menu. One of our senior Mr. Edie Darabna brought cold drinks, Daliah Kermani volunteered with falooda and Cyrus Mehta (son-in-law of our senior Mr. Vicaji Taraporwala) had brought jalebees.

The movie continued and we closed around 3pm.

Our next session will be held on 13th April 2014.

It was once again the most enjoyable picnic for our seniors.

The day started with some volunteers picking up some seniors from their residences and other seniors requested to meet at Pakuranga plaza. We all gathered at the spot and started off to Auckland Domain.

We reached the Domain and started the most important thing - EAT.

We had a two minute silence in remembrance of our late Mr. Vicaji Taraporwalla.

We then got the seniors to play housie.

The Taraporwalla family had got mutton biryani to be served in memory of their father Mr. Vicaji.

Some seniors went for a walk round the Wintergardens and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of plants and flowers.

ZANZ would like to thank the volunteers for the day – Anaheeta Sethna, Merzi Daruwalla, Cyrus, Rati, Aafreen and Viraf Mehta.

Our next senior's session will be held on 18th May 2014.

After last months' picnic at WinterGardens – Auckland Domain, the seniors were back at the Howick Recreation Hall, ever pleased to meet each other.

We started with the tea/coffee session, followed by sev from our senior Perviz Daruwalla, and medu-vada from our seniors Perin Daruwalla & Mana Vazifdar.

This session we had two doctors of Chiropractic who visited us and gave a talk on how Chiropractic is important for health and well-being. They also gave a free health / spine assessment to all our seniors who wished to avail of it. Many of our seniors did feel the relief, including our Committee Member who blessed the doctors for their free treatment and good thorough checks. These two doctors have volunteered their time and would be willing to visit the Seniors' sessions regularly to give a free check/treatment.

Alongside, we got the seniors to play few games of housie which they were awaiting for, especially the glow on their faces when they claim their "chocolate" prizes.

This session we celebrated the birthdays of Perin Daruwalla, Nergish Tata & Mana Vazifdar, who also brought and cut a cake. But the most enjoyable moment was when Mr. Vazifdar played "Happy Birthday" (and a few other songs) on his mouth organ.

The fifth Senior Citizens' Coffee Group for the year 2014 was held on 15th June 2014 from 10:00 am to 12 noon at Howick Recreation Centre.
17 seniors graced the event.

We started with the usual tea/coffee session, followed by biscuits.

This session we, again, had the same 2 doctors of Chiropractic, who visited us last time and gave a talk on how Chiropractic is important for health and well-being.

They gave a free health / spine assessment to all our seniors who wished to avail of it. Many of our seniors who availed this free assessment, did feel the relief.

These two doctors have volunteered their time and would be willing to visit the Seniors' sessions regularly to give a free check/treatment.

There was a new comer this session, Khorshed Bhikaji. She is on a visit to NZ for a few months. Hence we had a round of introduction where every one, including the volunteers, introduced themselves with their brief family background.

Later we got the seniors to play few games of housie which they were awaiting for, especially the glow on their faces when they claim their "chocolate" prizes.

This session, we celebrated the birthday of Roshan Irani.

Our seniors had a jolly time meeting all their friends and then settled in their positions to watch a movie.

Tea with khari biscuits was served alongwith vasunu which was kindly given by Niloofer Fatakia.

The seniors were engrossed in watching their movie, Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, but had to stop for lunch.

The lunch – dessert – cake was kindly sponsored by Thrity Mistry {our regular senior attendee} and her family.

This session we celebrated the birthdays of Minoo Daruwalla, Thrity Misty and Katy Irani.

This time it was something very different.

We picked up our seniors from their homes and met at Faroud Dar-be-Mehr for attendance of Gatha Prayers which were held at Dadgah.

After paying homage to their Departed Souls at Gatha Prayers in our Dadgah, the volunteers took the seniors to the Pakuranga Westfield mall. Since it was a good occasion of New Year's Eve, we gave our Seniors a treat in the Westfield mall.

They were given coffee and muffins at Muffin Break which was partly sponsored by an anonymous donor. Some Seniors took a stroll in the mall to do "window shopping"

It was a jolly good outing, loved by the Seniors, something different.

Our volunteers for the day were Minoo Siganporia, Merzi Daruwalla & Nazneen Daruwalla.

Our next session will be held on 21st September 2014, which will be a sponsored luncheon with Hindi Movie.

Our seniors had a jolly time meeting all their friends and then settled to have delicious sev-dahi which was generously catered by Maharukh and Hoshi Katki.
As per regular, they started to play housie and some of them won many chocolates as prizes.

Later lunch was served, mora dal chaval and chicken patio and fish patio – this too was generously catered by Maharukh & Hoshi Katki.
Followed by yummy vanilla ice-cream which was given my Kashmira and Jimmy Mehta in loving memory of their mother Coomi Mehta.

After the sumptuous lunch and dessert, the seniors played a game of "Eating the Cookie". All of them gave a good try and some were able to actually feed the cookie.

This session we celebrated the birthday of Zemina Irani.

Our volunteers for the day were Minoo Siganporia & Anaheeta Sethna.

Our next session will be held on 19th October 2014.
